Happy Birthday, Little Man!!!

Image
Julian's birthday celebration included a cake, candles, party hat, his best friend Benjamin, some TV, and lots of trains. Yipeee!!! Another train!!!! May I blow them now? Now? How about now? Please? Look! I did all the blowing, all by myself!!! One has to relax with a friend and a movie after all this partying...

Apples, Pumpkins, and Things

Image
Fall is Mom's favorite season in Michigan. We get amazing produce from the Farm, the trees start to change colors, and there is so much fun to be had on weekends. This Sunday, we visited our favorite apple orchard. Not only do they grow an astounding variety of apples, most not available commercially, but also have all sorts of great things for kids: pumpkins for picking, mazes for conquering, and swings for swinging among others. Managable maze height for Little Man. Julian just loved being surrounded by pumpkins. Storytime.

Babarazzi and Dziadek Wojtek Visit Ann Arbor

Image
Baba Irena spent 3 weeks glued to her camera, thus her nickname. We are very grateful for her efforts, though, because thanks to her passion we have a great account of their visit. Aside of seeing Ann Arbor to and through, the Gramps also visited Glen Arbor with us. It was the first time ever we were there in season, and I was very pleasantly surprised - the beaches were still empty, and the area still abounded in chocolates and cherries. Are we there yet? Visiting the Wave Field Any family visit is not complete without seeing the Farm Glen Arbor at its best Mom is happy to see that, at least for the time being, there is someone SHORTER than her in the family...

Ahhh, Glen Arbor!!!

Image
Glenn Arbor is our place on Earth. Pristine, empty beaches, not threatened with any condo development. Chocolates. Cherries. Oh, did I mention chocolates? Sunblock application is not exactly Julian's favorite beach activity, thus we often have to resort to distraction and bribery. To see the world in a grain of sand... To see the world in a pile of sand... OK, I've just about had it with the lofty words... PLAYTIME!!!!!

Trains, Buses, Cars, and Trains Again

Image
Don't know who this Easter Bunny is, but I sure like the dude... We took a trip "Down South" to visit our friends and family at Eastertime. We intended to catch a train in Ann Arbor, take it to Chicago, catch an overnight train to Greenwood, MS, rent a car there and drive it to Starkville to visit some friends, then get back on the trian and take it to Hammond, LA. Almost all went as planned, with exception of having to get on a bus at 1:00 am for a part of the journay as the tracks were flooded. No problem... That's EXACTLY how we looove to travel :) Makes for good blog entries. Aside of this one little snafu, all was fabulous. Not sure about your hat, mister, but I like the food... The Year Grinch Stole Christmas

I have no idea how it happened, but we didn't take a single pic during the actual holidays. So I give you what I got...

Happy Thanksgiving

Image
As usual, our Thanksgiving feast was, well, BIG. Somehow we always forget, that it is ONE meal that we are cooking. Leftovers are nice, but if you like to cook, they stand in your way of creations to follow. This year, we had two guests - Uncle Dave, and Auntie Swati. Julian will, I think, ask Swati to marry him as soon as he can put such complicated sentence together. Mine, all MINE!!!! Little Foodah Gotta learn your trucks early... We haven't done crepes in a while as they require much more time and energy than we could spare since our Little Man was born, but since both of our esteemed guests put in the request, we had to get busy.
