Fun in German Village

Image
As Dad has travelled to Columbus, OH many times for work, he knew how cool it is, and where one should stay when visiting. So we packed up our stuff (Julian's stuff mostly), and headed for the brick roads and houses of the German Village. Our accommodations were mind blowing . We stayed in one of the two suites in a renovated historic house in the heart of the historic district. Full kitchen, patio, incredibly fun bathroom, and all done in simple, contemporary style (no Victorian detailing in sight). Julian went nuts over the shower. He kept on walking in and walking out, trying to pick out the rocks from the floor, playing with water magically pouring from above and so on. Who would have thought, that a bathroom can be so much fun??? It was a great, great experience, and being able to cook at home instead of going out made all the difference. Walking around in his Ignatius Hat (re: "Confederacy of Dunces") Mom? Dad? I REALLY need one of these at home.... How come I ...

Merry Christmas!!!

Hmmm... I get it. I put these things into these holes...Cool... Who else can fit here? How about Mom? And my Bear? And blocks??? I just don't know about this horse thing... But the book by Kafka looks promising... It might be a bit small, but what a location! The idea of gifts still eludes Jules, which is totally fine with us. Julian's favorite things are not things at all - he loves to swing, to go up and down the stairs, and to be chased around the house. So, dear Family and Friends - it is your presence not your presents that counts ! We would like to extend a warm invitation to all of you (you know who you are!). Come and visit anytime! Let us feed you! Play with Julian! It takes a village to raise a child; in our case the village happens to be somewhat global... Merry Christmas to you, and a happy New Year!

Happy Birthday, Dad!

Paul and Amber stopped by to wish Dad Happy Birthday, and brought some goodies. The funnest goodie was Dad's official birthday gift - a ten pound dark chocolate bar! As much as he loves dark chocolate, Dad is a bit intimidated by this one.
