Boy Meets Wagon

Image
Last weekend we scored a used, red Radio Flyer - Town and Country from a garage sale for 5 bucks! Today, Dad cleaned it up, sanded down the floor, and oiled the wheels. We just got back from her maiden voyage around the block with Julian at the helm... DAD Pulling away from the dock... Julian also picked up Gracie to show off his new wheels.

In the Jungle the Mighty Jungle...

I guess that's why they call it the Child's Pose in Yoga.... Lil' J Bear, and Brown Bear David in the mighty jungle sleep tonight... or this morning, as the case might be.

That Boy's Gonna be a YAT Yet...

Julian was groovin on his first serving of red beans and rice today, which as most of you know is a New Orleans tradition on Mondays. Because well, you're too poor to eat anything else after all the partying over the weekend. Unfortunately our pot was cooked up on a Tuesday, but it didn't seem to bother him too much... Dad. This next one's important because if you look closely you can see Julian's two new pearly whites up in the front row...

Look Mom! No Hands!

Image
Julian has been standing for up to 30 seconds all on his own. It's funny because he usually doesn't realize he's doing it. He'll just be standing next to some piece of furniture and all of a sudden turn around without holding on any longer. Usually he realizes he's moved away from the object holding him up and opts to go down to a safer elevation... Here's a sequence today of him holding on to the coffee table and turning around when Mom called his name. Dad

Gummy Bear No More

Though we have no luck whatsover photographing them, Julian has teeth!!! The two front bottom ones came out this past weekend (after 2 weeks of pain and misery), and there seem to be at least two on the the top just waiting to punch through. I don't expect to have any problems with biting during nursing - he attempted it a few times without teeth, and was told in no uncertain terms it's a no-go. Also - yesterday he learned how to blow raspberries. When was the last time YOU blew raspberries all day long, getting a kick out of each and every one?

Conquering the Coffee Table

Image
We are blessed with a coffee table that has rounded corners. I say "blessed", because it is the single piece of furniture at which Jules spends almost every waking minute these days. This humble coffee table has become Julian's Mount Everest, greatest friend, personal fitness club, and a peak-a-boo haven. Oh, are you looking now? I am ready... I can get up and down in a controller manner (no more sitting down "plop on the boodie" style!!!) And then I just keep walking ... ...till I make it to the other side!!!

Exploring New 'Grounds

Image
Taking Jules to the nearby park has become our daily evening ritual lately. He looooves the swing, can't quite figure out what to do with the slide, and is oblivious to all else - with exception of the wooden chips on the ground. Apparently, they make a great evening snack... Mom
